Robo masivo en Moselle : Equipo médico vital para África desaparece de ONG francesa

Four 70 kg tents, donated by civil security ; small medical equipment "easily resalable", such as electric scalpels or small operating room equipment ; 17 "all-in-one" computers, "very popular in Africa" ; the consumables of radiology printers, at a very high cost and about sixty crates of food from the neighboring association were stolen from the former helicopter hangar that serves as a storage and office space for the Association for International Development Lorraine (Adip). The amount of the damage is estimated at 50,000 euros.

Claude Hentzien, president of this association specialized in the sending of medical equipment to Africa and Asia, discovered the theft on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in the early morning, reports Le Républicain Lorrain.

"These thefts put lives at risk," he warns. What distresses him the most is the theft of heavy medical equipment parts, more precisely the respirators. These machines are "overhauled, in perfect condition," but are about fifteen years old, Hentzien specifies, stressing that their age implies that their parts "are becoming rare" and are difficult to access.

After this theft, the president of Adip can count on the support of the Mosellans and a Belgian company. The latter offers to repair the electrical network - sabotaged during the break-in.
