The outcry of Atlas Lions supporters against the high price of plane tickets to go to Côte d’Ivoire to support the Moroccan team, which is participating in the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), seems to have paid off.

In case of Morocco’s qualification for the quarter-finals of the 2023 CAN, special flights will be organized to connect Casablanca airport to Yamoussoukro airport, the administrative capital of Côte d’Ivoire, where the next round match will be held, reports Rue20, adding that efforts are being made in this direction. The offer intended for the Moroccan public in case of qualification of the Atlas Lions will be affordable, to ensure a round-trip plane ticket on the same day, with a stadium entry ticket, it is specified.

On Wednesday, Morocco secured first place in Group F by defeating Zambia (0-1). Thus, the Atlas Lions will face South Africa in the round of 16 of the CAN next Tuesday at 9 pm (Moroccan time) at the Laurent Pokou stadium in San Pedro. If they qualify for the quarter-finals, Moroccan supporters will come in large numbers to Yamoussoukro to support them thanks to the special flights that will be organized between Casablanca airport and Yamoussoukro airport, which can accommodate medium-sized aircraft, with a single runway for landing and takeoff.

This week, Moroccan supporters have criticized the high price of the flight to Côte d’Ivoire via Royal Air Maroc (RAM), which exceeded 6,000 dirhams, before calling on Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), to intervene and establish a partnership with the national airline for flights to the CAN host country at reasonable prices.
