El boom del mango en Marruecos : Importaciones se triplican y marcan récord histórico

Moroccan mango imports reached a new record in 2024, reflecting strong domestic demand for this fruit.
Mango imports are soaring. Morocco imported 15,600 tons of mangos last year, an increase of 10% compared to the previous year and double the volumes recorded in 2019 and 2020, reports EastFruit. This upward trend continued in 2025. Imports reached 2,500 tons in just two months (January and February), triple the imports for the same period in 2024. A historic record for the season.
Since 2020, Moroccan mango imports have continued to increase. They have reached an impressive average annual growth rate of 15% over the past five years. Mango imports take place all year round, but the high season is from March to May. African countries, particularly Mali - even though its market share is gradually decreasing - and Senegal, remain the main suppliers. Brazil is also among the top three mango exporters to Morocco at the end of 2024.
The constant increase in Moroccan mango imports reflects strong domestic demand for this fruit. This interest from Moroccan consumers has also prompted distributors to diversify their product ranges. Thanks to investments in cold storage warehouses and logistics infrastructure, the availability of high-quality imported fruits throughout the country is guaranteed. In addition, "the development of Morocco’s trade relations with African and Latin American suppliers has strengthened the stability of the supply chain," notes the same source.
